As a kid Randall always knew he wanted to be an architect. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University in 1992, Randall quickly jumped into designing and developing projects. His passion for building the projects he designed led him to the design/build firm Bensonwood where he oversaw the design studio for 27 years and helped grow the company from 20 to 120 employees. Randall’s focus for the last two decades has been incorporating strategies to use pre-defined components with 3D software for design and construction.
Randall has a long history of designing and developing his own buildings, always playing a key role in the construction of them. His projects range from beautiful custom homes to mixed use commercial buildings varying in size scope and purpose.
Notable projects include:
Southface Village | Okemo Ski-In Ski-Out |Modestman Brewery

With an undergraduate degree in environmental science, Hilary started her architecture career off with an eye for developing sustainable solutions in the built environment. After graduating summa cum lade with her Master’s of Architecture at the University of Colorado she moved to New England to work on some of the first LEED projects in the country.
She first crossed paths with Randall in the early 2000’s when she started working in the design studio at Bensonwood. There, she spearheaded the company’s sustainability standards and worked closely with Randall on some of the company's most forward thinking projects including the Unity House, the first Net Zero, LEED Platinum home in Maine.
Combining her two passions, Hilary went on to start and run a climbing gym development company where she strengthened her business acumen and her love of building communities through real estate development.
She and Randall reconnected in a post-COVID world, decided to embark on a new business venture and Lignin Group was born.

George has always been drawn to work that matters — and to understanding exactly how things work. Over a 25-year construction career, he developed a broad mechanical skillset across some of the industry's more technically demanding corners. He spent six years at Froling Energy as a plant operator and supervisor, managing wood chip processing, plant maintenance, and the steam boilers and turbines that converted biomass into electricity. He also worked on wood pellet plants and solar projects, building a career with a consistent focus on renewable energy.
George joined Lignin Group in 2025 as site supervisor for the 310 project, where he oversees subcontractors, manages materials, enforces site safety, and has played a direct hands-on role in the construction itself, including the structural raising of the building.
That same mechanical instinct carries into his personal life. George builds cars from the ground up and serves as crew chief for his son's short track racing team — wrenching, strategizing, and doing whatever it takes to put his son in a position to win.
